Charles Roy Terrell, 84, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Bonne Vie Nursing Home in Port Arthur, Texas.
Charles was born on September 13, 1938, in Garrison, Texas to Jessie Irine Dews Terrell and Virgil Clinton Terrell. He graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School and was a retired maintenance supervisor with Dupont for over thirty-four years. Charles was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland for many years. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, bowling and square dancing. Charles loved his Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros, but most of all he loved his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Mary Helen Terrell of Nederland, his children, Tim Terrell (Ashley), Tammy Terrell Hoover, grandchildren, Ryan Terrell (Natalie), Haley Gothia (Hunter), Holly Terrell, Kyler Terrell, Eva Terrell, Abby Hoover, Jeff Hoover and great grandchildren, Cannon and Collin Terrell and Emily Gothia.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Jessie Terrell, brothers, A.C. Terrell and Larry Joe Terrell and his sister, Wanda Jean Terrell.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church located at 2711 Helena Ave, Nederland, TX 77627. A “Celebration of Life” Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. A private family cremation and burial will be held at a later date.
