Every summer, I would pack up the kids and go visit my sweet sister in law for a fun filled visit. We would have coffee or hot tea and talk and laugh so much our sides would ache. At one point she worked in her aunt's knit shop and people would come in to shop and they would stay and knit. Cheryl taught me to knit that summer. Another summer she was into sewing. She taught me to sew that year. One year we made pear butter. One year we did some decorative painting. She always had a fun project going and I would get all into it because she was so enthusiastic about it. Most times when she and Bill would visit us, she would take one of the kids home with her and our daughter really loved going there. I suspect it was because Cheryl and Bill spoiled her something awful. There are so many things I miss about her but there are so many more sweet memories that I mostly just think about that.

One of my favorite memories of Cheryl is from my very early childhood, hanging out at her house and talking about all the clocks. :) I feel like she's been a presence my whole life, and I will miss her laugh and her witty snarky comebacks. RIP, Cheryl.
