Chester Foret, 88, of Nederland, Texas passed away on May 15, 2018. He was born in Washington, Louisiana on September 14, 1929 to the late, Alfred Foret and Lodie Ortego Foret. Chester retired as a pipefitter from B. F. Goodrich. Chester served his country proudly in the U. S. Army and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. He served on the Board of Directors for 50 years with DuGood Federal Credit Union and he was active in the V.F.W. for many years.
Chester is survived by his daughters, Peggy Gomez and her husband, Paul of Nederland; June Burnaman of Nederland; his son, Bill Foret and his wife, Carol of Nederland; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Foret; his son, Bobby Foret; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Father Oakes, celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
