Chris Banks, 58, of Nederland, Texas passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023. Chris was born on July 11, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lynn and Peggy Banks.

Chris was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He had a love for fishing, crabbing and going to the beach. Chris enjoyed entertaining family and friends and having them over to cook for them. Chris retired from Wal-Mart after 30 years of service.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Banks and Peggy Joyce (Boudreaux) Banks.

Those left to cherish Chris’ memory include his girlfriend, Phuong Truong; his children, Ashley Holmes and Wesley of Beaumont, Texas; Cody Banks and Jeffrey of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Carson and Caden Holmes; sister, Melanie Henslee and Chad; brother, Damian Banks and Joseph; Ashley’s mother, Stacy Smith; and Cody’s mother, Jerri Tatum; stepmother, Sharon Banks; stepsisters, Brandi Tatarchuck and Roy, Carolyn Garza and Robert; stepbrother, Vance Sanders and Adrean and a host of cousins. Chris also cherished his fur babies, Rockie and Bud and his favorite girl of all times “Maggie”.

Serving as pallbearers for Chris include Wesley Holmes, Damian Banks, Chad Henslee, Jarrod Goldberg, Tinker Ham and Stuart Boudreaux.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Chris’ Life to begin at 11:00 a.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
