Christine Amelia Pelloat, 80, of League City, Texas and formerly of Groves passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Christine was born on April 5, 1943, in Yorktown, Indiana to Marietta Werts Dowling and Harry Dowling. She had lived in the Groves area with her husband Clay for many years where they owned and operated Clayboys Smoke Pit for over seven years in Groves. Christine loved cooking and baking; spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was mainly known for her baking. Christine may have baked over 3000 pies and cakes in her lifetime for the smoke pit, family, friends and church members at Carpenters Way in Groves where she was a member.
Survivors include her son, Clayton Pelloat and his wife Ginger of League City, Texas; brothers, Fred Dowling and his wife Barbara, Randy Dowling and his wife Beverly and Terry Cummings all of Indiana; grandchildren, Mallory Pelloat, Drew Pelloat, Abella Pelloat, Ashleigh and Tyler Morgan; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Marietta Dowling; son, Richard Morgan; brother, Bill Walker and her husband, Clayton Pelloat who passed away on November 19, 2018.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Ryan Colichia, Dylan Colichia, Keaton Colichia, Hayden Colichia, Chris Webster and Tyler Morgan.
