I am SO Saddened to hear of Chris's passing. I worked with him at Lowe's for almost 5 years in Outside Lawn and Garden. As I got to know him more and more every day I was around him, I seen that Chris had a Heart of Gold. He was always there and willing to help me and he answered any questions I had about the job. When I would be at home and get on my Computer, I always had a Message from Chris if just to say Hello. I worked at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital and he was up there seeing a family member. He came to where I was working and visited with me. I know he will be SO MISSED by ALL that knew him. RIP Chris, I WILL see you one day. I know you will do as your Family is asking you to do and that is watch over them. I know you are doing that every day. But at least you are in a Great Place and will be waiting on your Loved ones when it's their time. MISS YOU CHRIS.

I've only known Chris for a short period. Wild to think of how quickly fifteen years blows past. Painfully we hadn't been able to arrange our schedules to do the paling about as we used to. When we would meet the first topics were "how's the family doing?" You see Chris was always alert to a greater picture.
He didn't ask much from this would that he couldn't earn or supply for himself. With one caveat. Chris' simple singular wish above all things was that you accept him. He was loyal to his family, he was honest to his peers. He was a proud and strong man with endless values. He honored his father and mother to greatest depth of availability.
I remember when we went to New Orleans for a weekend and had an awesome time aggravating and pleasantly upsetting the wannabe street smart cons. He was tickled beyond belief at how wild a place it was and how mellow all at the same time. We talked about going back, but one takes the low hands and hopes for the rare high ones. Mice and men and their plans, you know.
I'm a Damnyankee (all one word) and he's a Good Ol Southern boy but we had a great deal in common. Not so much a strange pair, rather a difficult duo. Gun Range or fire pit. Throwing back good beer or good whiskey Chris and I made sure not to over indulge or shame the people we held dear. Casinos and Greasy Spoons. Odd humor of rubber masks. He was as close to a brethren as one could offer as a friend.
My father told me as a child, there are two types of person in this world. Friends and acquaintances. You'll meet and know millions of people who you are friendly to or relevant with but they are no further than an acquaintance. You will have few people whom you call friends. Persons who you know their parents and sibling and pets. Persons whom ask you to borrow money and NEVER concern on a payback. Friend. A word with a value. Chris was a dear value. He was in a word, my FRIEND.
He believed in a greater power in his life. He believed in a higher being who had a purpose for him. Must have had a lot of work down here as Chris affected a large number of people. None the less. He had his faith. It was strong and central to his being, his family and his life's activities. He has not passed away, in my mind, rather he has graduated to the next level of life. As my son calls him "Uncky Chris" will be monitoring us and meeting other graduates to begin new behaviors in the name of I AM.

So sorry for this tragic loss- I remember Chris as a lil kid always "hanging out" with us teenagers and I treasure those memories.... I was fortunate to see Chris grow into a very respectable and productive man and visited with him often. He will certainly be missed and his memory will be cherished. Buddy, Linda, Tonya & Carla- you are all in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything you need or if I can be of any help in your time of mourning, please dont hesitate to call me....

Sending prayers to all of you. Chris was always so nice when I would see him at Lowe's, over the past few years. Heaven gained an Angel for sure. I know there aren't any words to "comfort" y'all, but know that God needed him more than Earth did. Stay strong
