Claire Lynnette “Lynn” Simmons, 74, of Nederland, Texas passed December 14, 2020. She was born in Crowley, Louisiana on August 14, 1946 to the late Wilma Vincent Sonnier and Willa Mae LaGrange Sonnier. Lynn was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.
Those left to cherish Lynn’s memory are her husband, Rochelle Joseph Simmons of Nederland; daughters, Jennifer Rabalais and husband, Jason of The Woodlands and Janice Wilson of Nederland; sons, Joe Simmons and wife Laurie of Nederland and Jeff Simmons of Nederland; grandchildren, Dylan Rabalais and wife Ariel, Stephen Wilson, Gabe Simmons, Sarah Rabalais, Chase Wilson, Meagan Wilson, Maddie Simmons, Joshua Simmons, and Jessica Simmons; great-grandchild, Reign Wilson; and brother, Martin Sonnier and wife Eula of Baytown. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Glynn Sonnier, and sister-in-law Donna Sonnier.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Hughes celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Due to Coronavirus-19 we request that friends and relatives practice social distancing while attending Lynn’s visitation and service. All guests are required to wear a face mask before entering Melancon’s Funeral Home and at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.
