Claryce Boozer, beloved matriarch, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Kountze, Texas, at the age of 96. Born on December 28, 1927, in Crockett, Texas, Claryce was a bright light in the lives of many, known for her warmth, love, and indomitable spirit.
A lifelong lover of knowledge and community, Claryce devoted many years of her life to serving as one of the librarians at the First Baptist Church in Port Neches, Texas. Her passion for reading and education left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families within the community. Through her hard work and dedication, she ensured that the library became a welcoming haven for all who sought the joy of Christian literature.
Claryce was especially cherished as a grandmother, taking immense joy in the adventures and experiences shared with her grandchildren. Her playful spirit led her to be actively involved in trips and children's activities, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by her family for generations to come. Her enthusiasm for life extended beyond her family; she found great enjoyment in playing Bingo and following all sports, always rooting for her favorite teams with unwavering enthusiasm.
Claryce was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, C. L. Boozer, her parents, James Clarence and Iva Mae Hager Kee, her son Mark Boozer, and her great-grandson Enrique Carrera. Those who were fortunate to know her will remember her generosity, humility, and fierce love for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Huddle of Village Mills, Texas; her son, Thomas Boozer and his wife Kristin of Mauriceville, Texas; her grandchildren, Trisha Bennett and her husband Chad, Blake Rebert and his wife Lauren, Chad Rebert and his wife Sasha, Vanessa Carrera and her husband Enrique, Garrett Boozer, Cory Boozer and his wife Trisha, and Shannon Boozer, and her great-grandchildren, Brody Boozer, Abigail Boozer, Phoebe Boozer, Reis Bennett, Madyn Bennett, Demi Bennett, Layla Rebert, Olivia Rebert, Luke Rebert, Kassidy Carrera, and Kinsley Carrera.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service and Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, both at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, located at 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651.
Claryce Boozer's legacy of love, mentorship, and laughter will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
