Claude Ray Berwick, 74, of Beaumont, Texas passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas surrounded by his family. Claude was born February 11, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to Claude H. Berwick and Inez Demahay Berwick. He was a lifelong area resident and member of Calvary Baptist Church of Beaumont. Claude retired as a buyer for Bayer Corporation. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the NRA, the American Falconry Association, and the Purple Martin Association. He was an avid bird watcher and banded birds for the U.S. Government. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Berwick of Beaumont, TX; sister, Joann Chiasson of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Jim Berwick and his wife Phyllis of Port Neches, TX; eight nieces and seven nephews. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Joe Constantine officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
