Claude M. Edwards, 82, of Port Acres, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Port Arthur, Texas. Claude was born on December 11, 1935 in Denton, Texas to the late, Donald and Dora Edwards.

Claude was a parishioner at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres, attended Port Neches Groves High School and was a retiree of Neches Butane / Huntsman with 37 years of service.

Those left to cherish Claude’s memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Patsy Edwards of Port Acres; his children, Vance Edwards (Kelly) of LaBelle, Texas, Chris Edwards (Angie) of Nederland, Texas, Stephen Edwards (Dianna) of Orange, Texas, Jason Edwards (Jamie) of Katy, Texas, Kit Edwards-Henley (Miles) of Utica, MS, and Darren Edwards (Molly) of Port Acres; sisters, Rachel Stephenson of Kemah, Texas and Arlyn Ra Edwards of Nederland; six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Claude is preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

A visitation will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Rejimon George, celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.

My deepest sympathies to the Edwards Family. I spent a large chunk of time at the Edwards household growing up, from the time of riding bikes to growing older and working on cars on Mr. Edward's garage, with my dad and him sitting in lawn chairs, enjoying a beverage while they laughed at my best friend Stephen and my ignorance on everything.
