Claude Edward Wiggins, 80, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his residence in Nederland.
Claude was born on September 17, 1941, in Center, Texas to Claudie Lee Greer Wiggins and Thomas Allen Wiggins. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland and was a retired operator for Waste Management and previously worked as a machinist for PPG and Unocal. Claude loved wood working, making many things for family and friends like bird houses and anything else you can imagine. He pretty much could fix anything unless it was an electrical issue. Claude also loved to play golf; watch any kind of western especially John Wayne movies; he loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite player was Bob Lilly; he even had his jersey. He loved people but he especially loved his family and would do anything for them.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Patricia McCord Wiggins of Nederland; children, Amanda Forsythe and her husband Roger of Orange, Texas, Andrea Davis and her husband Tom of McKinney, Texas, Chad Clark and his wife Dyanne of Nederland; Susan Miller of Troup, Texas, Barbara Barton and her husband Lee of Troup, Texas, George Singletary of Troup, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa Anton and her husband Ryan of McKinney, Claire Davis of Denver, Colorado, Michaela Stamey and her husband Carl of Rapid City, South Dakota, Emma Forsythe of Orange, Texas, Toni Clark of College Station, Texas, Sophia Clark of Nederland, Texas, James Miller and his wife Sarah of Azle, Texas, and Jonathan Miller and his wife Amanda of Lindale, Texas, and Brandy Barton of Troup, Texas; eight great grandchild and sister-in-law Janell Loveday and her husband Bill of Katy, Texas. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Claudie Lee Wiggins and stepsons Steve Singletary and James Rawls and step-granddaughter, Lindsey Barton.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service to Honor the Life of Claude Edward Wiggins will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with Jason Burden officiating. Private cremation services will take place at a later date.
