Clifford Ray Gouner, 64, of Baton Rouge, LA died Monday, August 3, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Clifford was born September 19, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Lamar University. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Dorothy Gouner. He is survived by his sisters, Meredith Avilez and husband, Robert; Patti Smith and husband, Norman; and Rene Cozad; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.

My most heartfelt condolences to Clifford's family. My memories of him and of Patti, and the great times that we shared will stay with me forever. Clifford took me under his wing, when I first started at Lamar U., as a slightly overwhelmed freshman. He was a good, kind soul and I know that he is with you, in the air around you, giving you all a big hug.
