Craig Holden Ray, Sr., 57, of Sabine Pass, Texas passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Craig was born September 10, 1962 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Carl and Judy Ray. He was a Commercial fisherman and longtime 4th generation family business owner of Poopie’s Big Blue Crabs. Craig enjoyed being on the water, tending his garden and nothing more than being surrounded by family.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Judy Ann Williams Ray and Carl Harry Ray; brother, Curtis Ray.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tastie Ray; stepchildren, Jesse Hardy and his wife, Stevie Hardy; Riki Hardy and her husband, Tyler Willis and their children, Logan Hardy and Rowyn Willis; daughter, Crystal Adams and her husband, Thomas Adams and their children, Kayla Robinson, Anna Thompson, Ezra Thompson, and TJ Adams; son, Craig Holden Ray, Jr. and his spouse, Desiree Kozlovsky, and their children, Carsyn Ray, Colt Ray and Saylor Ray; sisters, Misty Pointe and her children, Alicia Abshire, Jana Torres, and Curtis Abshire; Rosalie Ray; brothers, Carl Ray and his children, Carl Ray and Susan Gass; Roger Ray and his son, Bryce Ray.
A gathering of friends and relatives will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sabine Pass Cemetery in Sabine Pass, Texas.
