Curtis Paul LeBlanc, Sr., of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Port Neches, Texas, a man whose life was marked by steadfast devotion to family, unwavering service to his country, and a passion for the simple joys of life, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born January 3, 1941, in Port Neches, Texas, Curtis’s journey was one grounded in strong values, fierce loyalty, and abundant love.
A proud graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, class of 1959, Curtis distinguished himself not only in academics but also on the football field where he played with heart and determination. His commitment to excellence extended beyond school, as he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Completing basic training at Lockland Air Force Base in San Antonio, he then served his nation as a firefighter, demonstrating courage and dedication. Indeed, Curtis held a revered place within the military community, having served on the President John F. Kennedy Presidential Protection Division at Cape Cod, Massachusetts, a testament to his character and trustworthiness.
Known affectionately as an Olympic Golden Glove Champion, Curtis’s achievements were many, yet he remained a humble man who valued family above all. He was a skilled welder by trade, a craftsman whose hands shaped both metal and memories. His love for Colorado was well known among those who knew him, a state that held a special place in his heart.
Curtis lived for his children and grandchildren, with family always taking precedence in his life. He is survived by his daughter, Lesa Langham and his sons, John LeBlanc and Curtis LeBlanc, Jr. His legacy extends through five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Family bonds were deepened with the presence of his brothers Lewis LeBlanc, Larry LeBlanc, Tommy LeBlanc, and sister Jay Marie Granger.
His life’s interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt – a lover of travel, photography, and the charm of flea markets, Curtis brought a keen eye for beauty and adventure to each day. His personality shone brightly, carrying the spirit of a man who delighted in the world’s treasures and the love of those closest to him.
Curtis was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul N. LeBlanc and Dorothy M. Henry; his cherished love, Paula Bourgeois; sister Geraldine LeBlanc; and grandson Kyle Burnham. Their memories remain etched in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family will gather to honor and remember Curtis’s life with a Visitation held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches, Texas, on May 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., including a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass celebrating his life will be conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas, on May 16, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by inurnment and Military Honors to be held at Fairview Cemetery in Winnie, Texas
