Cynthia Ann Hassell, 78, of Nederland, Texas passed away July 19, 2012 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. She was a social worker for the Texas Department of Human Services and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Port Arthur.Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church of Port Arthur on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Dinger officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland.Cynthia is survived by her husband, Paul Hassell of Nederland sons, Paul David Hassell and wife Mamta Jayavardhan of Cedar Park, and Roger Hassell and wife Kathryn of Evergreen, CO grandchildren, Matthew Hassell, Daniel Hassell, and Lucas Hassell and sister, Eunice Louise Peavey Allardyce of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Eunice Peavey and Jacqueline Peavey VanSlyke.Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2400 5th St., Port Arthur, TX 77640.Details and registry available at Melancons.org
