Cynthia Pauline Hooker

April 21, 1956 — September 17, 2021

Cynthia Pauline Hooker, 65, of Port Neches passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Cindy was born on April 21, 1956, in Port Arthur, Texas to Helen Lucille Wright Myers and Henry Auldon Myers. She was a retired nurse for Coventry Case Management for over twenty years and a member of the Word of Life Church in Groves, Texas. Cindy was a woman of many passions. Her lifesong included a great love for her Lord Jesus, her precious family, and her close friends. She was truly a devoted mother to her 3 beautiful children and a wonderful “Grammy” to her 6 endearing grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and close friends every chance she could get. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking big family dinners for all of her loved ones. She also had a great love for watching movies and probably enjoyed doing that more than anything else! She developed a great passion for traveling to Alaska which she visited on numerous occasions as she thoroughly enjoyed the rich, vast, gorgeous landscape of that great land. She was completely fascinated by the beauty of watching the whales.

She was also a very active member in her beloved church. She was a Praise & Worship singer there for over 40 years as she was gifted with an incredibly beautiful voice as well as a passionate lifelong love for the music ministry. Cindy spent a great deal of her personal time studying God’s Word and often shared her faith with those around her throughout her life. This personal relationship with the Lord gave her an admirable strength that carried over to her professional life as a registered nurse. She absolutely loved nursing and faithfully served our community and the greater Houston area for over 30 years.

Cindy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her deeply, but we all know as a great woman of faith that she is now in the glorious presence of her beloved Lord and Savior in Eternal Life. Until we meet again, may she rest in that eternal peace of her precious salvation in Christ Jesus.

Survivors include her children, Christina Nicole Quebodeaux of Nederland, Delaina Marie Johnston and her husband Trevor of Groves and Daniel Dean Mouhot and his wife Anna of Nederland; grandchildren, Keller Mouhot, Emma Johnston, Carter Quebodeaux, Trent Johnston, Lylah Mouhot and Fox Mouhot and her sister, Michelle Forse of Port Neches.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Myers; her sister Wanda Mayfield and her brother, Alvin Myers.
