Dale James Jackson Sr.
Dale J. Jackson Sr., 88, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his residence in Groves.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. Officiating will be Reverend J.C. Coon. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Dale was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on June 11, 1935, to Joe Jackson Jr. and Anna Boden Jackson. He married the love of his life Phyllis Dauterive and retired from Gulf Oil Refinery after thirty-eight years of working as a Carpenter and as a storekeeper. He was a member of the Groves Knights of Columbus #349. He pitched Fast Pitch Softball for (El Charro) and many other teams. His hobbies included golf and dominos at the Pea Patch as well as bowling, fishing, and cooking for everyone. He also served as a D.J. for Bon Ton Dance Club and coached many young Groves boys when he served as an assistant coach for the Browns Junior League football team.
He was preceded in death by two of his siblings Barry, and Glenn Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Phyllis Dauterive Jackson of Groves, TX; four sons, Dale J. Jackson Jr. and wife Sheryl of Lumberton, TX, Randy Jackson and wife Dawn of Bridge City, TX, Kyle Jackson and wife Donna of Groves, TX, and Aaron Jackson of Groves, TX; two daughters, Cindy Jackson Harrison and husband Wendell of Port Neches, TX, and Alicia Jackson Riley and husband Rick of Mandeville, LA; fourteen grandchildren, Maygon, Diek, Asylin, Chelsea, Ciara, Chey, Kristen, Josh, Anessa, Sarah, Saige, Bailey, McKenzie, and Sydnee; twenty eight great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Carolyn Viator, Pam Bonich, and Sandy Herpin; and his brother, Chris Jackson.
