Grew up across the street from the DeKerlegands on Monroe, such a good family. As one of the oldest boys in the family, he kept all of us youngsters in line. He had a great sense of humor! RIP Brother!

My favorite memories of Daniel are of him teasing his daughters, nieces and nephews, of him playing fetch with his dogs (and sometimes nurses), and the backyard crawfish boils under the shade tree. Dan knew how to fix just about anything, and was always willing to help. He was my brother-in-law and my friend, he will be dearly missed. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Pamela, Dana, Amy and the DeKerlegand family.

My favorite memories of Daniel are from back in the day when Pam and Daniel would have me over on weekends to play cards and Backgammon... and throw back some cold bottles of Michelob;-/). He kept things fun and full of laughs! I recall Christmas gift gags with huge boxes containing tiny things ... or slightly embarrassing contents;-/. He loved to joke around, but if you saw him at mass he would be(have) like a true gentleman. He was one of kind, and will be forever missed. Pam, your love for him was so beautiful to witness. You were made for him and he for you! Dana and Amy, your daddy was tough on the outside but no one was fooled when it came to his girls... he couldn't keep that straight lip long when he thought or spoke of you! I'd ask about you and up those corners of his mouth would go... that told me all I needed to know. We are all so sorry for and saddened by this loss.💔 Love & Prayers always, Susan & Bobby and family

My fondest Memories of Daniel consist of working for him at Nederland Market Basket when I was in High School. Little did I know he would Marry my Cuz and become part of the Family. Daniel was a good Man to work for and had a great sense of Humor - he will be missed by many and did have a positive influence of many young Men's lives back in the late 70's from Nederland. I Pray you Rest In Peace my Friend and I hope to catch up with you when we meet again in Heaven.

I remember Bourgeois Reunions at Tee Mamou, and know they would not have been the same without him! He was both fun and funny. It seems one year there were gifts made for a raffle/give-away, I think! Anyway, Daniel was a craftsman! He made the most beautiful, sturdy bird houses I had ever seen and my father-in-law was looking for some for his house on the Bay. Contacted mom-in-law and she stuck with the manufactured type. Went through dozens of those! Should have had Daniel make one for him anyway! So sorry for your loss, Pam and family. R.I.P. Daniel!

I'll always treasure memories of sitting on the swing harassing Daniel as he worked in the garden, being in the kitchen watching vegetables being processed and being included in fish fries. He was a good big brother who was a big teaser and kept me laughing. We will miss his humor and company. Rest with God, Daniel♡

My brother-in-law Daniel was always there to help anyone in the family (especially my parents). He was a great husband to my sister, Pamela and father to his daughters (Dana and Amy). When I think of Daniel, it is him being a wonderful family man. Daniel, God Bless you and I hope to see you again someday.
