Daniel Patrick Higgins, Sr.

1959 ∼ 2025

Daniel Patrick Higgins, Sr., known affectionately as Danny, passed away on August 22, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on January 1, 1959, in Port Arthur, Texas, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose legacy will be deeply cherished by all who knew him.

Danny dedicated many years of his life as an Environmentalist for Huntsman, a career he found both rewarding and fulfilling until his retirement in 2011. His passion for the environment mirrored his commitment to his family and friends, embodying the values he esteemed throughout his life.

A man of many interests, Danny was particularly proud of his accomplishments in fishing and hunting. He relished the moments spent outdoors, creating lasting memories on the water and in the woods. Additionally, his love for cooking brought joy to many family gatherings, where his culinary creations were savored and appreciated.

Danny's heart was filled with love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-two years, Rayna Higgins, who resides in Groves. He was a cherished father to his sons, Joel Higgins of Hampshire-Fannett, Daniel P. Higgins, Jr. and his wife, Tiffany of Vidor, and Ryan Amburn of Beaumont. As a grandfather, he delighted in the company of his grandchildren, Elizabeth Higgins and Danny Higgins, showering them with affection and guidance. His fur babies, Tramp and Merle, also held a special place in his heart.

Danny was one of six siblings. He is survived by his Mom, Rita Higgins, that raised him since he was seven years old, along with his brother, James Higgins and his wife, Regina of Groves; his brother, Joe Higgins and his wife, Kathy Arpin of Port Neches; his sister, Nancy Rodriquez and her husband, Carlos of Port Arthur; his brother, Timmy John Higgins and his wife, Cheryl of Groves; and his sister, Sarah Tyer and her husband, Gary of Port Neches. He is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews who will carry fond memories of their uncle.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, James Higgins, Sr. and Sally Severance Higgins, and his sister, Kathleen Higgins, whose memories live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

As we reflect upon the life of Daniel Patrick Higgins, Sr., we remember a man whose laughter resonated through rooms filled with family and friends, a gentle spirit who found joy in life's simple pleasures, and a loving soul whose impact on this world remains everlasting. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
