Daniel Joseph Bouillion, 77, of Groves, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with Alzheimer39s. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Msgr. Kenneth Greig celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Dan was born in Abbeville, Louisiana and was a resident of Groves. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Air Force. He was later employed as a butcher for Bruces, Weingarten39s, and Howards Supermarkets. He was the owner of D.J.39s Meat market from 1976 to 1988 and the founder of D.J.39s Boudain. Dan enjoyed everything from tinkering in his garage to crawfish boils and frying turkeys. He loved watching Dallas football games with his grandsons.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ledia and Elda Bouillion his brothers, Norman Bouillion, Cloy, Paul, and Harry Duhon and his sister, Ida Fuller. He is survived by his wife, Gertie Bouillion sisters, Annabelle Weatherford of Willis and Edie Wright of Nederland brother, Thomas Duhon of Nederland daughters, Bobbie Bouillion of Beaumont, Cissie Wilson of Vidor, Janis Pokraka of Nederland, Lisa Bouillion of Corpus Christi, and Julie Trott of Melbourne, FL sons, Ernest Vincent of Port Neches and Jerry Vincent of Groves 16 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
