Dannie M. Saunders, 89, of Hillister, Texas formerly of Port Neches passed away August 29, 2011 at Woodville Nursing and Rehab in Woodville, Texas. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 26, 1921 to the late Clinton and Myrtle Kelley Finley. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. John Denby officiating.Dannie is preceded in death by her parents husband, E. W. quotSonnyquot Saunders 2 grandsons, Jimmy and Ryan Saunders sister, Zola Fleniken and brother, Herbert Finley. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Whitman and husband Bill of Spurger 2 sons, James C. Saunders and wife Betty of Spurger and Jerry W.
