Dannie Annette Weidknecht, 77, of Nederland, Texas passed away at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas on April 11, 2014. She was born on September 17, 1936 in Nixa, Missouri to the late John Smith and Lida Snider Smith. Dannie was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland and a member of the Gleaners Ladies Sunday School Class. She was a retired teacher and enjoyed playing bunco with her friends each month.

Dannie is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Hostetter, Erin Hostetter and Lauren Hostetter and son-in-law Michael Hoestetter all of Nederland. She is preceded in death her parents and daughter, Cherilyn Hostetter.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Rev. Dr. Jason Burden officiating. A gathering of friends and relatives will be held from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014.
