Danny Girouard, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 62. He was born on March 30, 1962 in Rome, New York, and was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas.
Throughout his life, Danny built a career as a pipefitter, and contributing his skills to residential construction. He was well-known for his unwavering positivity, a bright spirit that could lift the hearts of those around him. Danny had the biggest heart—a trait that allowed him to connect with people easily. He was a man who never met a stranger and possessed an innate ability to make everyone feel like family.
A devoted husband of 40 years to Tina Girouard, Danny cherished their life together and took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His love for his family knew no bounds, as he not only celebrated their successes but also encouraged and supported them in every endeavor.
Danny is survived by his son, Wayne Baker and his wife Lyndi; his daughters, Heather Norris and her husband Richard, and Crystal Girouard; and his cherished grandchildren, Kay'Leen Norris, Bowen Norris, and Ryker Norris. He was also a dear brother to his siblings, Terri Girouard, Paula Brown and her husband Barry, David Girouard, and Lori Ann McCloud, and his niece, Wanda Borrero.
In addition to his family, Danny was known for helping others whenever he could, both emotionally and financially, embodying the principles of generosity and kindness. He was deeply loved for his warm hugs and the ability to seek out the good in everyone—a quality that endeared him to many.
Danny was passionate about woodworking, a hobby that allowed him to express his creativity. However, his favorite pastime was simply spending time with his family, where he found his greatest joy. Danny was a devoted and cherished member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Port Arthur.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Freda Girouard, who undoubtedly shaped the man he became.
Visitation services honoring Danny will be held on January 16, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and concluding at 6:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Both services will take place at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Texas.
Danny Girouard will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
