Darrell Gillette Allen, 83, of Port Neches, TX passed away December 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1932, in Port Arthur, TX to the late Cecil Gillette Allen and Ruth Victoria Allen.

Darrell was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, a member of Harley Owners Group and a proud Grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Gail McRae and husband Skip of Jacksonville, FL; grandchild, Sunny Ray and husband, Carl of Port Neches, TX; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Ray and Kambri Ray of Port Neches, TX.

A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Service will be Monday, January 4, 2016, 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Father Shane Baxter officiating, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

I met Curley at WF Bank and that first impression was one that will last a life time. "Hello, my name is Curley Allen, now i want you to remember my name everytime I walk in." I was terrified lol because I had a hard time remember ALL my customer's names. But his was one I never forget from that day forth, as well as all the special things he did to show his appreciation for those of us that truly cared about him as a person not just "another customer".
