David Melton Cross

David Melton Cross, 74, of Groves passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 24, 1946 to Hiram Melton Cross and Ethel Higginbotham Cross.

David was a lifelong area resident and member of West Groves Church of Christ in Groves.

He was retired as a Refinery Operator after 30 years of service and then worked as a Pharmacy Clerk at King's Pharmacy for 16 years.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Graveside services will begin at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Gail Cross of Groves, Texas, son, Darin Cross and wife Kellie of Fannett, Texas, daughter, Nikki Gill of Groves, Texas, sister, Linda Manuel and husband Clem of Mamou, Louisiana, and three grandchildren, McKenna Cross, Brennan Cross and Parker Gill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Gary Cross and Jeff Cross.

He was an Indian through and through and I'm a Bulldog. I will miss him giving me a hard time about loosing or winning whichever the case may be. He was a true friend and will be greatly missed. I will always remember his amazing smile and hug when I walked into the church building .Rest in peace my friend

Loved this good man and spiritual leader in our community. He will be missed so much by so many.
