He was the chairman of the 1st Diamond Jubilee in 1973 and past president of the Jaycees. He was the owner of Marcontel Plumbing Co. that served this community for 25 years.He was the loving husband of Gaye Nell LaPoint Marcontel of Nederland cherished father of Missy Gebert and husband Al of Frisco, Melanie Jarrell and husband Randy of Beaumont, and Amy Gallander and husband Brent of Nederland devoted grandfather of Tracy Glascow, Corey Gebert, Clint Gebert, Michelle Kerr, David Gebert, Stewart Gallander, and Payton Gallander and 7 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Marcontel.A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Rev. Adam Pardue officiating.
