My deepest condolences to the family. Gaye Nell, I remember both of you so well in high school, a year or so ahead of me, and I always thought: Thats the kind of lasting love everyone should find. Both of you always were friendly to underclassmen, and Dan and I so much enjoyed playing football for Bum Phillips. Dan made AllState, and I ... enjoyed playing football for Bum Phillips. Seriously, Dan was the of the , a gentleman and a scholar. And years later, it was my pleasure to write newspaper articles about his many Shrine activities. May he rest in peace, and may your family find peace in knowing Dan was a special individual and respected by everyone who knew him.

Gaye Nell, Missy, Melanie, and Amy,Im really sorry to hear of Dans passing. Thinking about him today I remembered how much fun he had with people looking at the bathroom display with the rubber hand waving from under the toilet seat and how proud he was when we brought Michelle home from the Hospial in the Lemo and we stopped in front of the shop on Boston Ave. for her first visit with her PaPa at work. Dan was a fixture in Nederland and will be missed by many in the community. Dennis
