David L. Gomez, 63, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. David was born in Beaumont on April 22, 1955 to Paul Gomez and Henrietta.

Those left to cherish David’s memory are his mother, Henrietta Hartman; sons, David Gomez and wife, Stacey of Port Neches, Texas and Stephen Ray Gomez of Groves, Texas; brothers, Steven Hartman and wife, Lisa of Port Neches and Paul Gomez, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Nederland, Texas; sisters, Mary Thompson of Azle, Texas, Julia Gomez of Fort Worth, Texas and Lora Laird and husband, Clint of Nederland; grandchildren, Dawson and Temperance Gomez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandy Gomez, father, Paul Gomez, Sr.; step-father, Loren Hartman; grandmother, Julia Rodriguez; and his niece Stacy Lynn Wright.

A note from the family:

We will truly miss David with all our hearts. He was a Son, a Brother, a Dad and a Pawpaw. He was truthfully, one of a kind. He loved his family so much, especially his Mom, Children and Grandchildren. We will miss his delicious barbeques and his uniquely playful banter.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to begin at 10:00 a.m.
