David was a man whose roots were deeply embedded in the landscape of Texas, a native son whose journey began in Port Arthur but later established roots in Nederland. Throughout his years, he carried with him the enduring spirit of the Lone Star State—a blend of strength, warmth, and unwavering commitment to those around him.

For over 50 years, David proudly owned and operated John & Dave Lumber store, becoming a trusted and familiar presence in the community. He was the kind of man who could fix just about anything, but more importantly, he was someone you could always count on. He will be remembered as a kind, hardworking, and dependable man whose life touched many. His legacy lives on not only in the things he built, but in the family he loved and the people he helped along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents Luke Greene and Laura Belle Hebert Greene and his brother John Earl Greene Sr.

David will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Pamela Helen McMinn Greene, and his two sons, Stephen Luke Greene and Clint David Greene and his wife Misty. He was a proud grandfather to Laura Paige Greene, Whitney Rose Greene, and Kimberly Rae Greene, and a great-grandfather to Isaiah James.

To honor his memory, visitation will be held on April 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Melancon Levingston Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Texas.
