David was someone I always looked up to. There was nothing that you could ask him about that he didn't know something about it. A jack of all trades. A man of his word and true character. He had principles and if he believed in something , he stood by it. I will miss him dearly.

I remember going over to Uncle David and Rhonda's house with my dad. I'd play with Alicia and Paula while dad and Uncle David "conversed passionately" about Union vs. Nonunion matters. This fascinated me. I asked my dad why they "argued," and he said, "Aw, we weren't arguing. We just have different opinions on some things, that's all." They truly loved one another as brothers and could have so much fun talking to each other, even on topics about which they held diametrically opposed opinions. So Uncle David, thank you for a lesson I have carried with me all my life, I hope you rest in peace, and everyone will miss you forever. My thoughts are with my family even though I have been, and am always, physically far away. "DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so, For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow, Die not, poor death, nor yet canst thou kill me. From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be, Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow, And soonest our best men with thee do go, Rest of their bones, and souls' delivery. Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men, And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell, And poppie, or charms can make us sleep as well, And better then thy stroke; why swell'st thou then; One short sleep past, we wake eternally, And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die." - John Donne

To all of the Hemby Family, I am so truly sorry in the loss of David. He was special to each of you in different ways. I know all of you have much grief in your heart right now, but this is the time that the Lord puts his loving arms around you and gives you the comfort that only He can give. There will be good days and bad days ahead but each of you will find strength in your family bond. Each of you will have many precious memories of time spent with David and these will give you comfort in the days ahead. Know that you have family to lean on and we are here for each of you. Just know that David is at peace now and out of his pain. Love Diana & Roger Lindsay and family.
