David Lee Stivner, 79, of Caldwell, Texas passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at College Station Medical Center. David was born August 26, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to Archie Stivner and Lillian Cunningham Stivner. He was a resident of Bridge City, Texas for 20 years before moving to Caldwell 7 years ago. David retired from the U. S. Army after serving from 195l to December 31, 1973. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Stivner of Caldwell, TX; daughter, Beverly Stivner of Jasper, TX; son, Danny Stivner of Brookeland, TX; sister, Annie Badon and husband Fabian of Port Arthur, TX; brother, Daniel Stivner and wife Joyce of Bronson, TX; eight grandchildren, Mike Lynch, Derek Lynch, Chris Lynch, April Hayes, Zachery Stivner, Christi Smith, Gary Burch, and Jared Berman. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth Powell officiating. Military graveside services will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
