Davis Lester Latiolais

Davis Latiolais, 88, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, June 8, 2015. Davis was born January 30, 1927 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a Groves area resident for 61 years and retired after 26 ½ years as a Chief Engineer for Gulf Oil Company in 1985. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945-1951. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kathlyne Latiolais of Groves, TX; daughter, Barbara Cormier of Groves, TX; daughter, Julie Rivera of Port Arthur, TX; son, Lindsey Latiolais and wife, Denise of Groves, TX; daughter, Angela Massey and husband, Roger of Groves, TX; brother, Curley Latiolais of Kountze, TX; sister, Rose Mary Molbert of League City, TX; sister, Betty Trahan of Lafayette, LA; brother, Warren Hernandez of Lafayette, LA; grandson, Davis Rivera of Port Arthur, TX and granddaughter, Sara Massey of Groves, TX. Davis is preceded in death by his parents, Hypolite and Rose Latiolais; brothers, Norris, Odea, Dannis and Wallace Latiolais; and sisters, Ada Begnaud, Lucille Breaux, May Lee Easton and Inez Broussard. A brief visitation will be from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, TX.
