Debra Lynn Violette

Debra Lynn Violette, 65, of Port Acres, Texas passed away October 9, 2020. She was born in North Carolina on January 7, 1955 to John Violette and Shirley Sanders Violette. Debra was an excellent seamstress and loved making crafts. She loved gardening and had a special love for her dog, Sabrina.

Those left to cherish Debra’s memory are her daughter, Haley Junot of Fannett; her grandchildren, Madison Bundick of Fannett and Blake Bundick of Fannett; her mother, Shirley McCowan of Nederland; her step-mother Lois of Nederland; her sisters, Cathy Rowan of Spring and Pattie Violette of New York; her brother, John Violette Jr. of Houston; and also her nieces and nephews, Amy Laxton, Susan Laxton, Derek Laxton, Ken Laxton, Andy Rowan, and Dalton Rowan.

Debra is preceded in death by her Mamaw Sanders whom she was very close to and loved dearly. She developed her love of plants and green thumb from her Mamaw.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a funeral service being held at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.

So sorry for the loss of Debbie. We were friends back in the day and sorry that we had lost touch. We always had fun and laughter when we were together going out and to the beach. Always remember her beautiful smile. Again condolences to her whole family. RIP Debbie . Kelly Becker Smith.
