Demetria Ann Powell, 78, of Winnie, Texas passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Demetria was born February 17, 1941 in Cottonport, Louisiana to Lurry and Lillie Ducote. She was a resident of Winnie for 25 years and a member of the Catholic faith. She was an Accounting Clerk with Gulf States Utilities with 13 years of service. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. After the service, the family will gather at Moms favorite restaurant, The Wheelhouse, in the banquet room. Demetria was preceded in death by her brothers, Ruben Ducote and Ronald Ducote. Surviving relatives include her husband, Doug Powell of Winnie, Texas; daughters, Jackie Belaire and husband Craig of Nederland, Texas, Lisa Walker and husband Troy of Friendswood, Texas, and Susan Rivers and husband Curtis of Beach City, Texas; step-daughter, Tammy Landry and fianc Gary Garcia of Fannett, Texas; sons, Marc Carona of Lumberton, Texas and Jon Carona and wife Rachel of Port Neches, Texas; step-sons, Doug Powell, Jr. of Fannett, Texas, Bobby Powell and wife Amber of Fannett, Texas; longtime friend, Diane Norris, who considered Mom her mother; brother, Joey Ducote and wife Erica; grandchildren, Deanna Angel and husband Slate, Amy Stafford and husband Sam, Melissa Ocker and husband Luke, Alec Walker and wife Kelsey, Abby Belaire, Alyse Walker, Gillian Carona, Frankie Carona, Jaci Carona, and Payton Carona; step-grandchildren, Macy Rakestraw, Haegan Powell, Brice Powell, Kelbi Powell, Chandler Landry, Jacob Richards, and Caleb Richards; great-grandchildren, Palmer, Jude, Owen, Pearse, and Emersyn; and her beloved dog, Bella.
