Dennis Ray Romero “Denny” passed away at his home in Port Neches on July 27, 2024 of natural causes. He was born at his home on Ithaca Avenue in Nederland, Texas to his loving parents Fred L. Romero, Sr. and Geneva Morgan on October 1, 1950.
Denny Romero, a beloved husband, father, father in law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in law, uncle, cousin, and friend, departed this world in his home of Port Neches. Throughout his life, Denny shared love laughter, and joy with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had pleasure of knowing him.
Denny is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dewetta Romero of Port Neches. They were inseparable and had many happy and cherished moments together. Over the years they had many adventures just “cruising around town”. It didn’t matter where they went as long as they were together.
His memory will also be cherished by his son, Chris Romero and daughter-in-law, Renae of Groves and his daughter, Priscilla Seymour and son-in-law, Ed Seymour, Jr. of Nederland, who will forever hold his love in their hearts.
His legacy continues through his many grandchildren that he adored and was so proud of: Chase Romero and his wife, Jaci, Megan Hernandez and her husband, James, Jacob Romero, Jordan Romero; Abbie Hanlon and her husband, Tyler; Zeke Romero; Ed Seymour III; Drew Seymour and his wife, Anna; Hattie Seymour; and Beau Seymour. Additionally, he leaves behind great-grandchildren, Archie Romero Broussard and Emri Jane Romero. Also mourning his loss are his sister, Jennifer Seale and brother-in-law, Jim, as well as his brother in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and countless friends who will continue to honor his memory with love and admiration.
In the embrace of eternity, Denny joins his parents, Fred L. Romero Sr. and Geneva Morgan in heavenly peace. He is also reunited with his brothers, Fred Romero and Tommy Romero.
Denny was most known for his art work and sign business. He was kind and giving even when he didn’t have much to give. He was a man of faith and loved Jesus and trusted in Jesus to get him through his every day. He was a kid at heart and loved to laugh and joke with everyone that crossed his path. He was playful, kind and loving. He was talented in so many areas of the arts. He made a life from his drawing ability; however, his true passion was music. He could play any instrument you handed him. He was most talented with the piano and guitar, which he taught himself to play by ear. The sound of him playing his music will be forever missed.
Dennis Ray Romero's kindness and warm spirit touched the lives of many. May he rest in peace as his memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
