He was a sales manager for Drago Supply.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Pastor Deamon Scapin officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Joey is survived by his daughter, Jenai Hamilton and husband Tyler of Houston son, Dewey Joe McDonald, III of Nederland grandson, Quinn Hamilton brother, Dwain McDonald of Beaumont and sister, Laura Bonin of Beaumont. He is preceded in death by his parents.

My heart truly goes out to the McDonald family for their loss. Joey, Dwain, and I were running buddys, when we where in our teens. I didnt know Joey in his adult years, but from what others have written about him here, Im sure he was still the joyful, humorous person I knew. I know he will be missed very much, by all that where lucky enough to have known him. God bless him and his family.

So sorry to hear of Deweys passing way too soon, way too young. I know how much he loved his children and how much he would have loved seeing his grandson grow up as well. I worked with him at The Enterprise for a long time and always appreciated his wise counsel and his sense of humor when we all needed a good laugh. Thanks for sharing him with us for all those years. Please know you, his family, are in our prayers.

I enjoyed working with Dewey at the Beaumont Enterprise for many years. He was very good at his job and always took pride in his work.What I enjoyed most about Dewey was his sense of humor and the fact that he could maintain that sense of humor even on days when things were not going well.He was a great coworker and friend. I am saddened by his early departure.

To the McDonald family, I am sorry for your loss. I have a lot of good memories running around with Joey in our younger days. He was the first guy in our crowd to have a new car and we put a lot of miles on the Monte Carlo riding around. He will surely be missed.
