Diane Sonnier, 71, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at her residence. She was born on May 25, 1943 in Port Neches, Texas to the late Melvin Abshire and Elvie Norris. Diane was a homemaker for the majority of her life.

Diane is survived by her children, Arnold Horton of Nederland, Sophie Ranolls and husband, Kenneth of Orange; her sister, Betty Cappel of Texas City; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stan Horton; and her brother, Melvin Abshire. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral Services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Lance Faukner officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
