Dick P. Connally, 83, of Port Neches passed away on June 28, 2013. He was born June 9, 1930 in Port Arthur to Fred and Faye Connally. He married Rose Marie Broussard and has been a longtime resident of the Mid-County area. He was a graduate of St. James High School in Port Arthur. He served in the U S Army, 82nd Airborne. He was owner of the Coastal Diving and Salvage Company. He was retired from the marine industry. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. Dick enjoyed hunting and golfing, but his true passion was fishing. Among many talents, he was an award winning wood carver. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will forever be remembered for his eternal optimism. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose Connally of Port Neches; son, Mike Connally and wife Leslee of Boerne, TX and son, Chris Connally and wife Juliette of Tuscon, AZ; daughter, Jill DeCuir and husband Ray of Nederland, TX. He leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Lorial Pelton and husband Bryan of Charlotte, TN and Daniel Moore and wife Rachel of Nashville, TN and a step-grandson, Scott DeCuir of New Braunfels, TX. Also to cherish his memory are 3 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nolan and Kinley Pelton of Charlotte, TN and step great-granddaughter, Micayla DeCuir of New Braunfels, TX. He also leaves behind his cherished extended family, the Gay family. Special thanks to his honorary daughter, Rosalind Dunkleberger, for all her help, love and support. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Kim. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Reverend Monsignor Bennie Patillo officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 4 Port Neches, Texas 77651.
