Dodie Annette Harrington

1968 ∼ 2025

Dodie Annette LeBouef Harrington, born June 25, 1968, in Port Arthur, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Dixie Arnold LeBouef and Patrick LeBouef, and the younger sister to Neal, who she adored, followed by her cherished sister Nicky who completed the family four years later.

Dodie grew up in Groves, Texas, where she was baptized, received her First Communion, and was confirmed at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Her high school years at Port Neches-Groves High School were marked by her role as a freshman cheerleader and later as an Indianette, culminating in her graduation in 1986.

After graduation, Dodie spent over two decades working as a dental assistant before transitioning to a position at Neches Credit Union, where she worked for many years before taking on her final role as a service operations assistant at ICM.

In 1992, Dodie married Glenn Taubert, becoming a devoted stepmother to Ryan Taubert. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Bailey and Emily, who were her greatest joys. Dodie raised her girls with love, devotion, and faith, guiding them in their spiritual journey at United Methodist Temple.

In 2017, Dodie married Al Harrington, embracing him and his son Jace as part of her growing family. In 2011, Dodie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her unwavering faith in Jesus and belief in her healing sustained her through every challenge. In 2015, Dodie was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, but she continued to face this trial with strength, courage, and a deep trust in God. With the help of her dear friend, she found Dr. Dicke at The Arlington Cancer Center, who became an instrumental part of her care.

Dodie’s favorite Bible verse, Mark 11:24, says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Dodie lived this verse, holding fast to the belief that God keeps His promises. She asked for healing, believed in it, and was ultimately healed. Now, she is eternally healed and in the loving arms of her Savior.

Throughout her journey, Dodie was passionate about mentoring other cancer survivors, offering encouragement and support to those walking similar paths. Her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to many, and she believed that maintaining a joyful, hopeful attitude contributed greatly to her survival. She truly saw herself as a victor, not a victim, facing her battle with grace, dignity, and an infectious smile that brightened every room she entered.

Dodie rededicated her life to Jesus in 2019 and was baptized at Encounter Church on September 29, 2019, where she was an active and faithful member.

In 2023, Dodie was overjoyed to become a grandmother, affectionately known as “DeeDee,” when Bailey and Spencer welcomed her grandson, Jack Dodie Wommack. Her happiest moments were spent dancing in the kitchen with her husband Al, surrounded by her daughters, their husbands, and sipping a glass of wine.

Dodie is survived by her husband, Al Harrington, her daughters, Bailey Wommack and her husband, Spencer and Emily Sparks and her husband, Kaleb and her stepson, Jace Harrington, along with her precious grandson, Jack Dodie Wommack, her parents, Dixie LeBouef and Pat and Donna LeBouef; her siblings, Neal LeBouef and husband John Perez and Nicky LeBouef. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who will miss her dearly.

Dodie’s legacy of faith, love, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew her. She now rests in the peace of her Savior, forever healed and eternally loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Encounter Church, 5300 Twin City Highway, Groves, TX 77619 or by visiting https://www.encounteronline.com/give.

Sending my deep condolences to Dodie’s girls and all of her family. We went to school together then later lived down the street from each other as our girls grew up together. Her strength through adversity and illness was truly amazing. May her sweet soul rest in comfort and peace.

So fortunate to know Dodie and her entire extended family! Beautiful soul and person inside and out! I have several great memories with this lady and family! I’ll never forget the weekend at the beach and we all were having such a great time. She had just met Al and wanted to leave that Saturday night to meet him. Well this was one of those times where the child (Bailey) became the parent and had to put her foot down that she should not be driving and that she was not allowed to leave. Good call Baikey! Dodie will be missed selfishly by everyone she has left behind, but will spend eternity in the best place anyone could ever hope and imagine to be! May that bring SO MUCH JOY and PEACE to her loving husband, kids, and family. I love this entire extended. Family as if they were my own!!! They are all a blessing in my life!!! We love you all and this incredible lady and child of God! I too will see you again without a doubt and I look forward to that day! Until I get there hold down the fort!!!
