Dolores Ann Junca Gomez, a beloved matriarch and dedicated homemaker, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 90. Born on July 18, 1934, in Port Arthur, Texas, Dolores lived a life rich in love, family, and faith. She was the cherished daughter of Robert and Elvie Junca and is now reunited with her loving husband, Warren Gomez, who was her partner for 46 years.
Dolores spent her formative years in Port Arthur, attending St. Mary Catholic School, where she laid the foundation for her strong values and sense of community. She completed her education at Bishop Byrne High School, graduating in 1953. Throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her faith as a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, where her spirit of generosity and kindness continued to shine brightly.
A proud supporter of both the LSU Tigers and the Texas Longhorns, Dolores had a zest for life that was infectious. Her love for cooking brought joy to family gatherings, where her culinary creations delighted all whom she served. It was in these moments, surrounded by loved ones, that her warmth and passion truly shone through, leaving a lasting legacy of togetherness and cherished memories.
Dolores leaves to carry on her spirit her beloved son, Neal Gomez of Port Neches, as well as her treasured grandchildren, Neil Tamez and his wife Lindsay, Nicholas Gomez, and Nathan Gomez and his wife Paige. Her heart glowed with joy at the laughter and smiles of her great-grandchildren, Noah Tamez and Leah Tamez, who brightened her days.
Dolores is preceded in death by her dear son, Wayne Gomez, and her brothers, Roland Junca and Arnold Junca. She will be sorely missed by her family, who finds solace in their memories of her boundless love and unwavering support.
Visitation will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th St, Groves, Texas, on April 5, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location, commencing at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves..
