1934 ∼ 2025

Dolores Ann Junca Gomez, a beloved matriarch and dedicated homemaker, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 90. Born on July 18, 1934, in Port Arthur, Texas, Dolores lived a life rich in love, family, and faith. Dolores spent her formative years in Port Arthur, attending St. Mary Catholic School, where she laid the foundation for her strong values and sense of community. She completed her education at Bishop Byrne High School, graduating in 1953. Throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her faith as a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, where her spirit of generosity and kindness continued to shine brightly.

A proud supporter of both the LSU Tigers and the Texas Longhorns, Dolores had a zest for life that was infectious. Her love for cooking brought joy to family gatherings, where her culinary creations delighted all whom she served. It was in these moments, surrounded by loved ones, that her warmth and passion truly shone through, leaving a lasting legacy of togetherness and cherished memories.

Dolores leaves to carry on her spirit her beloved son, Neal Gomez of Port Neches, as well as her treasured grandchildren, Neil Tamez and his wife Lindsay, Nicholas Gomez, and Nathan Gomez and his wife Paige. Her heart glowed with joy at the laughter and smiles of her great-grandchildren, Noah Tamez and Leah Tamez, who brightened her days.

I loved Aunt Dolores so much. I have so many fond memories of days spent together. She helped me so much with my children when they were young and I greatly appreciated everything she did for me. She will be truly missed.

Your mom was always like my 2nd mom and we had a lot of cherished memories together. I always loved spending the night at your house because your mom would always fix us something good to eat even if it may have been junk food. We had some fun trips to the beach, camping in your parents camper and so much more. She will be missed but is happy to now be back with your dad and Wayne and her mind is sharp again. Rest in Peace Mamma D.

Aunt Dolores was the sweetest! I remember her making the best orange cake! When Kim and I would spend time with her she would take us all over Groves! We would walk to church, even Jefferson City! I’ll miss her calling me “Sha or Sugar”. Even when I moved away she was always so thoughtful in sending cards to my boys. I know she is happy to be reunited with Uncle Warren and Wayne! Rest in peace Aunt Dolores

Neal, your mom was such a sweetheart. I have so many fond memories that when I first moved to Grove, y’all were my first neighbors that I hung around with the most. I’ll never forget every Halloween the whole neighborhood. Look forward to your mom‘s popcorn balls. that’s my favorite memory the popcorn balls
