Donald "Donny" Richardson Pope

February 6, 1952 — November 20, 2015

Donald "Donny" Richardson Pope, 63, of Nederland went to be with his heavenly Father on November 20, 2015, after a lengthy battle with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. Donny was a firm believer in God's grace and was comforted by his strong faith and the love from his family and friends.
Donny was born to Winston and Doris Pope on February 6, 1952 in Angie, Louisiana. Donny attended Port Arthur schools, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970. Donny married Becky Hogan on February 18, 1972, and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Haley and Jenna.
Donny was a talented carpenter, artist, and a 30 year employee of Chevron Phillips, serving as a tinner and an operator. Both Donny and Becky were the epitome of love. They enjoyed each others' company and he loved being surrounded by "all his girls." His attempts to teach them to mow, work on cars, or build with him ultimately ended with him playing dolls, working on school projects, or getting special manicures and pedicures. Donny was an avid fisherman, he loved being outdoors whether playing golf, hunting, gardening or tinkering in his shop.
Donny had so many amazing friends; he impacted each and every person he came in contact with. Donny will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Pope, daughters Haley Treme and husband Tad, and Jenna Dismukes and husband Michael, four grandaughters, Tyler, Hadlee, and Tanner Treme, and Audrey Dismukes, mother Doris Pope and brother Larry Pope, and in-laws, Ramona Metts and husband Jim, Lana Flory, and Paula Baker and husband Ken, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donny was preceded in death by his father, Winston Pope, and mother and father-in-law Audrey and Lavelle Hogan.
