Donna, Lori and Nancy - I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Daddy. I remember all the years at Hillcrest Baptist and was surprised when they moved back to see him at First Baptist. May the Lord wrap his arms around all of you and your family and give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I got to know Mr. Vance and Mrs. Betty in 2018, when he called and asked me to come out and visit with them about selling their home. I knew them casually before this, because my Mom had known them for years and she was the realtor that had actually sold them their house. I also knew Mrs. Johnnie Price, who was Mr. Vance’s sister. She was such a sweet person. She had worked at the Farmers State Bank, when my Mom worked there. I had sold Mrs. Johnnie’s house in town on Crawford Street and she had moved to Shelbyville, near Mr. Vance. I ended up listing and selling Mr. And Mrs. Green’s place for them. It was a wonderful experience to get to know Mr. Vance and Mrs. Betty. You can really learn a lot about people when you’re the one having this opportunity with them. You see first hand, if they’re honest, and straight forward, or if they’re possibly trying to cover up or hide something having to do with selling their property. The Green’s were very forth coming, totally up front and honest about their property. I honestly didn’t expect anything different from them! They were both true and fair with every decision that they made during the process. It was a very enjoyable time, for me, helping them with the sell! I felt that they were like my Uncle and Aunt, at the conclusion of our time spent together. I’ve missed them since they moved. However, we did keep up with each other through Facebook! I loved his “sayings” and “quotes”, as well as Mrs. Betty’s! Those two were truly made for each other! They loved each other, and both of them loved the Lord! He definitely loved his whole family! I can just see the celebration in Heaven, when he entered, and his loved ones met him at the gate! My mind took me to Mrs. Johnnie, standing at the gate, and them hugging each other, and then her taking him by the hand, and leading him around, so she can show him everything she wants him to see right away! There will be a big massive hole in the hearts and lives of his loved ones that remain here! Mr. Vance left an impression on me, and in my heart. I loved him and will miss him, until I see him again! I love you Mrs. Betty, and I will be praying for you, that God will comfort you! ❤️🙏❤️

My heart is broken! I loved me some Mr Vance. I don’t know why this has hit me so hard except that it’s like losing a grandparent to me! He and Mrs Betty have been missed since they left Center. They will always be missed. I am so glad we got to visit with them several months ago in their home. I know he and my grand parents Billy and Dot Ballard are having coffee together with Eddie and Ann Chapman! Those were great friends! Until we meet again Mr. Vance. You are loved and will be missed!❤️
