Donna Jean quotPunkinquot DuPlantis, 64, of Port Neches passed away surrounded by friends and family at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas on Saturday, April 14, 2012.She was born on March 30, 1948, in Port Arthur to the late Horace Troy Weatherly and Barbara Jean Walker Weatherly. Donna was a lifelong area resident.She is survived by her husband, Terry DuPlantis daughter, Shana Dumesnil and husband John of Flint, TX grandchildren, Hayley Dumesnil and Jacob Dumesnil. Donna is also survived by sisters, Judy Gothia of Nederland, Cherlyn Benoit of Groves and Maureen Vrettis of St. Augustine brothers, Hugh Weatherly of Port Arthur, Roddy Weatherly of Orangefield and Phil Weatherly of Groves, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Stephen Weatherly.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H Nederland with Father Stephen McCrate celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Melancon39s Funeral Home in Nederland.In lieu of usual remembrance, a memorial can be given to her grandchildren39s school, The Brook Hill School, 1051 North Houston St., Bullard, TX 75757.
