Troylene, words cannot express the sadness I feel for you and your family. What a blessing to have her for so many years. I used to love shopping at her nursery. God Bless you and your family.

Donnis was (is) a living jewel. Once you met her you could not forget her smile and laughter and her dedication to the Lord and her desire to bring everyone she met to know the way of Salvation. A true soul with a loving and caring heart. She wanted to make sure everyone she came in contact knew the Way into God’s Kingdom. Thinking of all the family today.

Amazing lady. God truly blessed Donnis & her service to Him. Many are her rewards. We shared many a laugh & head counts at Mid-County Baptist. It was an honor to be her bus driver. I have no doubts that Donnis will be missed but how wonderful will be the reunion one day. Blessings, Prayers and Comfort for all the family and friends in the days to come

My best memories of Donnis is when I was a little girl, my parents had Bailey’s Carpet Store, and next store was the fruit stand in Port Arthur. I loved going to see Donnis and Dot! Donnis was always the sweetest person. The last time I saw her was at my Dads funeral (her first cousin). RIP sweet Donnis and give my Dad a hug for me. I know y’all are rejoicing in heaven. My condolences to her family and friends. I know she will be missed by many. She was such a good example of what a Godly woman is. Always happy, always kind, and always caring for others.

I remember Mrs. Romero when she had the fruit stand by the bridge. Always so friendly. I saw her and her husband at garage sales for many years. She would be buying items for her many grandkids. She was a wonderful example of a fine Christian woman. She will be missed.

Growing up, my Grandpa Carl Wueschel and I would go visit Mr. Rodney and Mrs. Donnis. Those are memories I will always remember . Mrs. Donnis, you will be greatly missed. You were such a beautiful, kind, and caring person who touched so many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with the Romero family during this difficult time. ❤️🙏

A Heart of Wildflowers She had a heart of wildflowers, growing where grace was planted, blooming in every season, asking for nothing, yet giving everything. Her love was the kind people spend a lifetime searching for— gentle as a spring rain, steady as the morning sun, and warm enough to heal a weary soul. She loved God with all she had, and that love spilled from her heart into the lives of everyone she met. A kind word here, a helping hand there, a light shining quietly where darkness tried to settle. Her smile carried hope. Not because life was always easy, but because her faith was stronger than any storm she faced. You rarely saw her troubled, for she trusted God to carry what she could not. She was the kind of person who made the world feel softer, the kind of soul who left fingerprints of love on every heart she touched. And though flowers may fade, the beauty she planted never will. For kindness like hers, faith like hers, and love like hers live on forever in the people blessed enough to know
