Dora Barbara Morris

1928 ∼ 2012

Dora Barbara Gray Morris, 83, donned her wings and flew away to Glory to be with the Lord, January 22, 2012. She was born March 14, 1928 in Perquiams County, North Carolina to Dempsey and Elizabeth Gray. She was a resident of the Port Arthur area for 43 years before moving to Katy, Texas 4 years ago. She was lovingly known as "Me Maw" to family and friends of the family. She had the joy of knowing and loving God deep in her heart and soul, which she passed down to anyone who crossed her path. We mourn the loss of her smile, her hugs, her song and her strength, but rejoice in the fact that she is free from all suffering, care and concern now. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morris. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Bowden and husband, Robert of Katy, Texas, Patricia Morris and husband, David Spittler of Nederland, Texas; son, William "Bill" Morris and wife, Michelle of Pearland, Texas. She was adored by all 5 grandchildren, Angela Angell, Ryan Morris, Lindsey Morris, Andy Morris and Melanie Morris. She felt double blessed with 4 great grandchildren, Bryce Angell, Brock Angell, Brittany Angell, and Jolie Morris. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Dear cousins. No words can ease your pain and sorrow right now. I could say that will come with time, but that time is different for us all. Know your family here is feeling your burden also. God bless you all.

Barbara, Pat, and Little Bill you are all on our minds as you go through this joinery in life today and celebrate Aunt Doras life. You will miss her but she will live forever in your heart and ours.
