Doris Ann Kasper, age 68, a life-long resident of Port Arthur, TX died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Houston Hospice after a short illness. She was born September 2, 1949 at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur and was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A special child of God she attended Opportunity School beginning at age six and the Spindletop SE facility for the mentally handicapped until two years ago. She never met anyone who wasn't her friend and always remembered everyone's birthday. Survivors include two sisters: Kathy (Dan) Wingate of Port Arthur and Geneva (Dan) Elkins of Olive Branch, MS; two nieces: Terri (KC) Dehning of Logansport, IN and Peggy (David) Watson of Collierville, TN; one nephew, Matthew (Jana) Elkins of Southaven, MS; 11 nieces, Tana (William) Uffenbeck, CJ (Larry) Clingler; Nikki, Paige, and Taylor Watson; Lauren, Katie, Lindsey, Maddie, Lexi, and Hannah Elkins. Three great-nephews: Caleb Dehning, James Watson, and Andrew Elkins; one great-great nephew, William Timothy Uffenbeck Preceding her in death were her parents Alfred (Joe) and Ruby Kasper and three brothers: Virgil, Kenneth and A.J. Kasper. A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, TX on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. Arrangements provided by Levingston Funeral Home.
