Doris N. Sparrow Ferguson, 89, of Groves, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Steve Ferguson will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
Born in Emhouse, Texas on March 13, 1932, she was the daughter of Gussie Turlington Beard and Charles Earl Beard. Doris loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of Bellaire Baptist Church, participating in VBS and the WMA. After relocating to Anahuac, she was a faithful member of White’s Park Church of Christ. Doris was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She truly enjoyed family togetherness. You would always find her in her kitchen cooking up a delicious meal to serve them. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Her greatest joy was seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren experiencing the Spirit of Christmas and knowing its true meaning.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Andrew Sparrow; second husband, Vernon Ferguson; son, Steve Sparrow; brothers, Raymond Beard and Royal Beard.
Doris survived by her son, Mike Sparrow of Groves; daughter, Denise Trimble of Groves; Mike and Rhonda Ferguson of Baytown; Scott and Susie Ferguson of La Porte; Steve and Laurie Ferguson of Deer Park; Kim and Mark Adams of Lumberton; also 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the ladies that took care of our mom over the last several years; Pat, Marcelina, Estella, Martha, and Rita.
