Dorothy Arredondo

Dorothy Arredondo, 87, of Nederland, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016. Dorothy was born in Nederland on May 20, 1929 to the late Felix Koonce and Lillian Tolar.
Dorothy is survived by her loving daughters, Annie Sleeper and Lillian Aycock both of Nederland; her step-daughter, Sylvia Ramirez; son, Robert Arredondo of Nederland; sisters, Loretta Flowers and her husband, A.J. of Vidor, Betty Ann Koonce also of Vidor; brothers, Billy Koonce and his wife Dixie of Houston, Bobby Koonce and his wife Peggy of Orange; one granddaughter, Christie Stott; five grandsons, Charles Green, Chad Aycock, Kevin Sleeper, Kory Sleeper and Justin Aycock; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Felix Koonce and Lillian Tolar; her husband, Casey Arredondo; her sister, Frances Meeks and one daughter, Rita LeBlanc.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 12:00p.m. until 2:00p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
