Dorothy M. Bernard

Dorothy Mae Bernard, affectionately known as “Dottie”, 77, of, Nederland, Texas passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. Dorothy was born November 6, 1944, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Elsie Monroe Hanley and Sherman Hanley.

Dottie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland for fifty-eight years. Dottie was extremely talented with her hands, as she loved to quilt, crochet and knit. Dottie was a sweet and kind person who always put everyone’s needs above her own.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Sherman Hanley; brothers, Bobby Hanley and Kelley Hanley and sister, Deloris Laird.

Those left behind to cherish Dottie’s memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Mike Bernard; daughter, Misty Little and her husband, Brian; son, Paul Bernard and his wife, Vanessa; grandchildren, Whitney Beck, Craig Fuller, Josh Bernard, Owen Bernard, Evan Little and Aaron Little; great grandchildren, Skylar, Jaice, Izaak, Amylie, Brynliegh, Baylor, Blake, Cody, Ilianna, Jaicelyn, Remi, Rylan, Cali, Clohe, Azlyn and Jaxon.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to begin at 2:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Dottie's family, I didn't know Dottie passed away, we were very close and had some good times together, so many memories, I will always cherish, I Will miss you, you were a great cousin to have.
